UNS S31635 Stainless Steel Bar is a titanium-stabilised molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel that is more resistant to general and pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion than conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304 stainless steel. UNS S31635 Stainless Steel Bar also has higher creep, stress fracture and tensile strength at elevated temperatures and is susceptible to sensitisation at temperatures of approximately 425 to 815°C, resulting in the formation of grain boundary chromium carbides, which can lead to rapid corrosion.
